CLASS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Classes at Green's Sewing & Vacuum are on a first-pay, first-in-the-class basis. We are unable to hold a place for you in the class without full payment of the class fee. If you have not paid for the class, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to get in. Our class registration policy is to accommodate the customer who wants in the class and is willing to pay at that time. If the class is canceled by Green's Sewing & Vacuum, you will receive a full refund. We must have a registration minimum of six. If you cancel from the class prior to the day it begins, $15 of that class will be non refundable & is non negotiable. Once you have enrolled and paid for your class, you will receive a 20% discount on regular priced notions & patterns that are required for the class.

CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE

Arrive in time to set up so that the instructor can start the class promptly at the scheduled time. There is no assigned seating in the classroom. Please DO NOT move someone else's belongings if the person is not in the classroom prior to the class starting. They may be in the shop purchasing something for class.

OPEN SEW

Starting Wednesday, August 11th, Mary Ann has agreed to open the classroom for an OPEN SEW DAY! Sign ups are required with a minimum of 8 people. Any less then we will have to cancel. Open Sew will be offered once a month on the 2nd Wednesday. So come on down and join Mary Ann for Open Sew.

THE BASICS

BEGINNING HAND APPLIQUE

You have seen those beautiful applique quilts, but felt intimidated by the hand applique process. Come join us for 3 classes as Sue takes the mystery out of hand applique & shows you easy techniques to achieve those stunning results.

BEGINNING MACHINE QUILTING

Come for a fun day of learning how to machine quilt your tops on your home sewing machine. Sue will remove the mystery of free motion and patterned quilting.

BEGINNING ROTARY CUTTING

Rotary cutting revolutionized quilting, but if done incorrectly can hinder your quilt making and be dangerous to yourself & others. Come learn from Sue all the ins and outs of using this wonderful tool.

LUMPLESS BINDING

The last touch on your beautiful quilt is a binding. Come learn how to professionally bind your masterpiece.

Beginning Rotary Cutting & Lumpless Binding have no dates scheduled because they are only taught when we have enough interest to schedule a date. They will be offered on the same day so that you can make a day of it. INTRODUCTION TO PIECING

This class is intended to give you guided experience in sewing three quilt blocks. The three blocks have been chosen to give you a variety of piecing challenges so you will become more confident. Beginning Rotary Cutting or rotary cutting knowledge is a prerequisite for this class. If you are interested in this class call Green's and ask to be put on the class interest list. This will ensure that you are informed when dates & times are available.

INTERMEDIATE PIECING

Would you like to improve your piecing skills? This beautiful sampler quilt will give all skill levels a chance to practice accuracy. Introduction To Piecing or adequate piecing knowledge is a prerequisite to take this class. If you are interested in this class call Green's and ask to be put on the class interest list. This will ensure that you are informed when dates & times are available.

CLASSES

THE BELLA BAG

This great pattern by Anka's Treasures has three size options and three different handle styles. The models in the shop are of the large size bag because when Vickie made the first one, using a linen print she had on hand, she thought this would be a great bag to showcase some embroidery. So Halloween happened a little early, but the design was so much fun. Remember though, that if you decide to do embroidery, you are not limited to Halloween. So look through those embroidery designs and pick one you've wanted to showcase.

CHRISTMAS GLITTER

This beautiful walhanging (or pillow) would be a beautiful gift for someone, even yourself this holiday season. Sue will be teaching this class as fusible and hand applique. If you choose hand applique, the Beginning Hand Applique class is a prerequisite.

HOP TO IT (BLOCK OF THE MONTH) HAND APPLIQUE

This darling quilt will be offered as a "block of the month class." in 2011. Two blocks will be offered each month with tips & techniques for the hand appliquer. The Beginning Hand Applique class is a prerequisite for Hop To It. FAN DANCE

This is a beautiful quilt for all those who love paper piecing, or even those who don't. The fans make a design that is simply stunning. So come join Linda for a two day class filled with fun.

This class will construct a handy accessory for your sewing machine. Perhaps your sewing machine's new best friend. This sewing machine organizer with pockets makes handy tools accessible as well as protection for your sewing cabinet. Add embroidery for a theme or just assemble.

MACHINE EMBROIDERY CLASSES

CRAZY QUILT EMBROIDERY

If you are a quilter that embroiders as well, you can combine both hobbies into this project. Anita Goodesigns has come out with some really fun crazy quilting designs and Tina will be teaching you that technique. She has also come up with some fun border options as well. Tina chose to do the Pumpkin & the Sunflower, but there are several designs to choose from, so come join Tina for two days of Crazy Quilt Embroidery.

EMBROIDERY WINDOW

Tina & Vickie taught this class at Calico Junction and Green's and continue to have requests to continue it. So guess what? We have put another session on the schedule. You are able to choose any of the embroidered window designs. There are now some great new designs from OESD. If you haven't seen these embroidered windows from OESD & Anita Goodesign, come on down to Green's and check them out. Scenes vary from Holidays, to florals, to beautiful scenery.

IN THE HOOP FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Need quick, easy gifts for someone on your list? Maybe a teacher, a book club member, a friend, your neighbor who sometimes takes in your trash cans, or just someone who did a little extra something for you? There are so many fun projects to make "In The Hoop." We have samples of checkbook covers, notepad covers, a small zippered bag, and bookmarks. There are so many projects from which to choose, and they are quick and simple, but look like you spent hours slaving over them. So join Tina & Vickie to get started on that "quick" gift list.

MOTHER'S FANCY

This is a quilt designed by Vickie for one of her mystery retreats. When she mentioned to Tina that there was a great space for embroidery in this quilt, Tina talked Vickie into giving her enough information so that she could do embroidery in that area prior to the retreat. The result is an adorable Halloween quilt with candy corn people. This quilt is so much fun with or without embroidery. The first day of the class Tina and Vickie will be focusing on embroidery, but for those of you who choose not to do embroidery or don't have an embroidery machine, join us because you will just get farther for the two days of piecing.

RED OR BLACK, WHICH DO YOU PREFER?

Vickie's first retreat held in Green's classroom was a big hit. And, while Vickie was finishing up this quilt, she was thinking this would be a great quilt for embroidery going out side the blocks. Even before the first quilt was finished, she was digging in her fabrics because she knew which embroidery design she wanted to use and had to find that piece of fabric she knew she had. And, there it was! Thus this quilt was made again but reversing the lights and darks to accommodate the embroidery designs. This class is offered with or withourt embroidery. The first day of the class Tina and Vickie will be focusing on embroidery, but for those of you who choose not to do embroidery or don't have an embroidery machine, join us because you will just get farther for the two days of piecing.

MR. & MRS. CLAUS

This class some of you may be familiar with as it was first taught at Calico Junction as an Embroidery Extravaganza. We had so much fun that we have put another session on the schedule. The class is a quilt designed by Vickie Kiser using the OESD #868 Mr. & Mrs. Claus embroidery designs. You will be learning how to do multiple hooping for larger designs.

SOFTWARE & EMBROIDERY CLASS 2

Are you looking for a quick & easy gift to give that would be appropriate for any occasion? The second Software, class we are creating beautiful appliqued monograms. These appliqued monograms are so easy and a great gift for Christmas, newly weds, house warming, birthday, etc. And the best part, learning how to use your Designer's Gallery Custom Works & Letter Works. Green's has 2 laptops available to use so be sure to sign up early if you need to reserve a laptop.
